Foot Health

If there is one part of the body that gets forgotten. It’s definitely the feet!

Yet, our feet are so important. We don’t realize how much we depend on them until something goes wrong with them.

Here are three simple exercises you can do to look after your feet.

  1. Scrubbing: with a dry brush or loofah scrub your feet when you first wake up in the morning to increase circulation and stimulate lymphatic drainage. You will immediately notice your feet feel more “awake”!

  2. Massage with a ball: use a tennis or lacrosse ball to massage the bottoms of your feet. This is an excellent idea to incorporate before a workout or at the beginning of your yoga practice. You will wake up the whole posterior chain, allowing for your forward bends to come with more ease.

  3. Massage your feet with your hands: Also a great way to stimulate circulation and reduce stagnation in the feet. Massage the arches of your feet, and your Achilles tendon, and pull and twist each toe. Spread your toes and interlace your fingers in between the toes, and then do some ankle circles.

I hope you enjoyed these simple foot care techniques you can incorporate into your morning routine. If you are curious about foot health, feel free to contact me about doing a private session to improve the health of your feet!
